Research in Warsaw, Party in Prague

So I headed back to the homeland to begin research on the feature documentary I am currently developing about a polish film director named Tadeusz Jaworski who left Poland forty years ago, lives in Toronto and has not been reunited with his films since he left. I spent ten days fishing through archives, meeting with people and trying to piece together the fragmented remains of Tadeusz and his films as they exist in Poland today.

Then I headed off to Prague for the short film festival where Spoonfed was screening as part of 18 films in the International Competition. I brought along one of my best friends from Warsaw, Karolina Niesmialek who was my right hand lady the whole time! We met a lot of great film makers, danced a lot and experienced the beauty of the city...

Hanging with Paulina, one of the festival's organizers!

Dancing up a storm on opening night with Karolina!

Paying homage to the short film "Tony Zear" or in its original French title "Tony Zoreille"

Hanging with New York based filmmaker Barney Elliott

We met a hilarious dude from New Zealand who kept us laughing! Thanks Jim!

Our closing night gathering at Krasny Straty - lots of mohitos and beer!

A strange gift shop with mass-produced "hand-made" czech stuff - hmmm...
